Bulls in the City: Birmingham’s Boldest Art Trail Is Charging into GWA!

Birmingham is about to be bull-ied… in the best possible way.

This summer, prepare to be enchanted as a herd of vibrantly decorated bull sculptures stampedes across the city centre as part of Bulls in the City, a new large-scale art trail that blends creativity, community, and a dash of Brummie wit. And yes, Great Western Arcade is proudly hosting one of these majestic masterpieces!

Bonus: we’re also home to the Herd HQ, where you can shop official bull merch – opening 16 July.

What Is Bulls in the City?

Launching in July 2025, Bulls in the City is Birmingham’s newest, boldest public art event – bringing over 30 life-size bull sculptures to streets, shops, and landmarks across the city centre, including Colmore BID.

Each bull is a canvas for creativity – painted by talented artists and inspired by everything from Birmingham’s industrial roots to its vibrant, diverse communities. It’s a colourful celebration of art, heritage, and the city’s most iconic mascot: the bull.

🖼️ The trail is free to explore and perfect for families, lunch-break wanderers, and weekend explorers alike.

Meet the GWA Bull: A Bold Beauty in a Historic Home

Here at Great Western Arcade, we’re thrilled to be one of the hosts for this trail – and our bespoke bull will be proudly displayed inside our historic glass-topped space.

Why it’s worth a visit:
• Our Victorian backdrop provides the perfect frame for a photo with this bold bovine beauty.
• Admire the craftsmanship up close while browsing independent shops, award-winning delis, or stopping for a coffee at one of our artisan cafés.
• Our bull’s design? It’s under wraps for now… but expect elegance with a local twist (and a few surprises!).

A Celebration with Heart: Supporting Birmingham Hospice

More than just eye-catching art, Bulls in the City supports community causes through a final auction of the sculptures — raising funds for Birmingham Hospice.

Care for everyone: Birmingham Hospice has around 670 patients in its care on average every day across its services. With your support, the charity can continue to provide expert, specialist, and compassionate palliative and end-of-life care – now and in years to come.
